Spreadtrum, Keysight Team up For Mobile Chipset Technologies
March 01, 2016

Spreadtrum, a fabless semiconductor company of the Tsinghua Unigroup, has announced to sign an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Keysight, a US-based electronic test and measurement equipment supplier, for the development of mobile chipset technologies, reported the Commercial Times on February 29. Both companies will jointly develop testing solutions, including mobile chipset baseband, radio frequency module, and conformance test. The MoU also includes working together on MIMO (Multi-input Multi-output), wideband DPD (Digital Pre-Distortion), VoLTE (Voice over Long Term Evolution) and VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) test solutions, while  building a R&D center in Shanghai for developing 5G solutions. The partnership is expected to shorten Spreadtrum's time for IC design and lower its development costs.
